Rules & Regulations

Dadasaheb Phalke Film Puraskar of India

By submitting a film, project, nomination, or application to the Dadasaheb Phalke Film Puraskar of India, the applicant agrees to the following Terms & Conditions.

RULE 1 • CORE PRINCIPLE

Priority & Purpose of the Puraskar

Every year, the Dadasaheb Phalke Film Puraskar of India proudly honours and felicitates exceptional women filmmakers, writers, directors, producers, actors, and other women professionals in cinema, giving special priority to those who use cinema to address women’s issues and broader social concerns.

The Puraskar recognises films and individuals who highlight meaningful women-centric themes, celebrate the strength, achievements and stories of women, and create a positive impact through the powerful medium of cinema.

Along with women in cinema, the Puraskar may also honour outstanding personalities, filmmakers, artists, and social contributors who are working on important social issues, spreading awareness, and contributing towards the betterment of society.

Special priority will always be given to women filmmakers and women-led cinematic projects that create meaningful social impact.

RULE 2

Eligibility

  • Filmmakers, artists, producers, writers, and other eligible professionals may participate in the applicable award categories.
  • Entries may be accepted from India and other countries, depending on the category.
  • The submitted work must meet the eligibility requirements of the selected category.
RULE 3

Submission

  • All information provided during submission must be correct and complete.
  • The applicant must have the legal right and authority to submit the film or work.
  • Submission fees, where applicable, are non-refundable.
  • Submitting an entry does not guarantee nomination, selection, or an award.
RULE 4

Rights & Permissions

  • The applicant confirms that they own or have permission to submit the submitted work.
  • The applicant must have obtained all necessary copyright, music, image, performance, and other permissions.
  • The Dadasaheb Phalke Film Puraskar of India will not be responsible for any copyright or ownership dispute related to a submitted work.
RULE 5

Selection & Jury

  • Entries will be reviewed by the official selection committee and/or jury.
  • Selection and award decisions will be based on the applicable category and evaluation criteria.
  • The decision of the jury and organising authority shall be final and binding.
  • The organisers reserve the right to reject or disqualify an entry if the information provided is false, incomplete, or misleading.
RULE 6

Awards

  • Awards and recognitions will be given according to the official award categories.
  • The organisers reserve the right to add, remove, combine, or modify categories when required.
  • The decision regarding winners and special recognitions shall be final.
  • Awards may be presented to filmmakers, artists, films, or other eligible contributors as specified by the category.
RULE 7 • MEDIA & COMMUNICATIONS

Publicity & Promotion

By submitting an entry, the applicant gives permission to use the film title, poster, photographs, trailer, synopsis, filmmaker details, and other submitted promotional material for official publicity and promotional purposes.

This may include the official website, social media, press releases, publications, media coverage, and promotional campaigns.

RULE 8

Withdrawal

  • An entry cannot be withdrawn after selection without written approval from the organisers.
  • Submission fees will not be refunded in case of withdrawal.
  • The organisers may disqualify an entry if any false information, copyright violation, or misconduct is discovered.
RULE 9

Changes & Unforeseen Circumstances

The organisers reserve the right to change award dates, categories, procedures, venues, programmes, or other arrangements due to administrative, technical, legal, or unforeseen circumstances.

RULE 10 • FINAL ACCEPTANCE

Acceptance of Terms

By submitting an entry, the applicant confirms that they have read, understood, and accepted these Terms & Conditions.

The Dadasaheb Phalke Film Puraskar of India reserves the right to update these Terms & Conditions when necessary. Any important changes may be communicated through the official website or other official channels.
